HIIT is a great way of blowing off steam and releasing endorphins. We will be working through a series of solo and partner based exercises which will leave you feeling fantastic. All abilities are welcome and exercise mats will be provided.

Discuss & nourish

‘Stress’ refers to any physical, emotional stimulus that provokes a reaction from the body. Can stress be a good thing?

What is the effect of stress on our physical, mental and social health?

Why you should create time to exercise

How relaxation can help recalibrate and heal

Yoga

An invitation to slow down...

The winter months are a natural time to hunker down and replenish energy reserves and relaxation is probably the most important part of a yoga class for stress. It is when in a relaxed, resting state that the body can recalibrate and healing can occur.

Lead by Eirian, during this workshop you will be guided through calming yoga and mindfulness meditation techniques designed to help you release stress, unwind and reset.

It will be a chilled, slow, nourishing practice - total beginners welcome!

The workshop will offer tools to help you relax and improve your wellbeing…

Breathwork - simple breathing exercises to help trigger your body's relaxation response

Movement meditation and somatics - get out of your head and into your body

Self compassion meditation - shift your mindset away from comparison

Restorative Yin Yoga - Drop into stillness and replenish your energy

About your hosts…

Eirian Collinge - Cariad Yoga

From the age of 19, Eirian’s journey with Yoga has taught her how to deal with life’s challenges in a wonderfully creative way.

For most of her 20’s she worked in high pressured sales roles which triggered stress related IBS, Acne & Insomnia. After being signed off work with burnout in 2013 she found she didn’t have the energy for her usual fast paced Ashtanga or heating Bikram classes. It was at this low point that she was introduced to a regular meditation practice at Roger Cole’s Better Sleep workshop. This immersive weekend completely changed her personal practice and relationship towards herself and stress, eventually leading her to complete her teacher training in 2015.

Eirian leads regular workshops in the workplace specifically for stress and burnout.

Jessicarr Moorhouse - TRIBE.MCR

Jessicarr works part time as an NHS Doctor and is the founder of TRIBE.MCR. She took the decision to start working part time in August 2018, after she began to experience stress and anxiety symptoms at work. Now as a Personal Trainer and founder of TRIBE.MCR, she is an advocate for the physical, mental and social benefits of movement and exercise.

Jessicarr has used movement and exercise to help alleviate stress and anxiety, which on the whole has been effective. She has found, however, that focusing solely on high intensity exercise can be detrimental. This is why she decided to try out yoga and feels very lucky to call Eirian her teacher and friend.
